I don't have an amplifier and at this time I don't seem to need one. I can only read RSSI accurately when I'm reading it thru Franklin Connection Manager.Īnd it's connected directly to my trusty Cradlepoint CTR-350 which I've had over 6 months now, and it hasn't failed me a single time yet. Oddly enough in the Cradlepoint setup (192.168.0.1) it will always say my RSSI is either -51dBm or "0", regardless of whether it's doing 1xRTT or EVDO. Ec/Io bounces between -0.7 and -1.1dBm and everything else looks fine and dandy when it's connected to EVDO. Good signal, recently it's -67dBm stable since I tweaked my antenna. Needs to be there though, as I'm not the only one using the connection. Seems to go away when I connect directly to the ually it's hooked into a CTR-350. I have to unplug it and plug it back in, sometimes it'll be 1xRTT again immediately, sometimes it'll go to EVDO for a short time but always it'll go back to 1xRTT at some point. So for some reason starting just this Monday, my Franklin is randomly disconnecting, getting -255dBm RSSI w/ a solid red light only, then it'll connect to 1xRTT.
